We are proud to be able to introduce the hybridizing
work of Jim & Vicki Craig. They planted their first iris in the summer
of 1962 in Entiat, WA. The Craig's quickly learned that there were two
commercial gardens nearby and visited them that same year. Lovella Noyd
and Gordon Plough both opened their gardens to the public and Jim & Vicki
made many visits to the gardens. Jim decided the following year to try his
hand at hybridizing. In 1967, after being challenged by Gordon, Jim began
hybridizing with I. aphylla species with the goal of miniaturizing TB's.
The
Craig's are now specialists in a variety of median classes using a base of I.
aphylla. The benefits derived from this species are many. Multiple
branching, higher bud count, shorter foliage and proportionately petite stalks
and blooms. All of which leads us to highlight their latest introductions.
Lee
Walker has been with us for several years now and we are proud to be making his
introductions for him. Lee's hybridizing efforts spans a wide variety of
irises and he always has his eye out for an outstanding cultivar.
In
our full color catalogs we have a great variety of species, species crosses and
of course, modern introductions. A copy of our color catalog is available
for $5.00 which is deductible with your 2008 order.

the Newer Introductions below.
